    well i just did the customer-tuned 'claude is your insider threat now' talk

    i feel like it went really really well.

    40 minutes of Q&A after the presentation is usually a good sign.

    securityfest is in for a wild ride, because thats in a couple weeks, and holyshit just the last week and a half of news has been a rollercoaster

    @Viss

    I wish I had budget to have you give a lunch & learn talk here... OMG

    although, given how AI forward my CEO is, I'd probably be fired for daring to speak against clankers.

      @kajer the whole thing wasnt "against ai" though, it was "how to grapple with the risks of using these tools and not getting owned by supply chain backdoors", so it was less about 'fuck the clankers' and more like 'okay here's how to create a grenade range for the clankers so you dont die'

          @Viss

          That's my point though... CEO is so delusional about the infallible claude... even warning against malware MCPs is bad-mouthing / anti-ai.

          sigh

            I'm just here to watch it blow up and the subsequent panic at this point.

            Remember when eveyone wanted to abandon on-prem in favor of AWS, then the first AWS bill came?

            yeah, they don't think the same will happen when AI bill shows up. The current AI bills cost more per month than I spend on firewall credits in a year. :facepalm:

                @Viss and I have to justify why we need a Palo Alto FW and SDWAN every year...

                Meanwhile... we have "cron jobs" buring tokens checking if it's time to run yet...
