@Em0nM4stodon I've known two people who have written and published books. One was wildly successful, one flopped horribly and she's never written again, even though I actually quite enjoyed it.

@Em0nM4stodon OK...so i heard writing a book..even a bad one...is a quick way to become an expert. At least in the public eye. You can get NPR interviews and push a view point quickly with a book

Do you have a story to tell? A book dying to get out of your head? Then definitely yes. If you want to cash in on all the billions of dollars that authors make, probably no.

@Em0nM4stodon Even if you don't know shit or fuck about writing all you have to do is look some stuff up and say "fuck it I do what I want." Even if it's shit remember that you can always edit the hell out of it. I started a side project that starts with the main character waking up, trying to have breakfast, vomiting, getting really hungry, being offered her roommate's arm as a chew toy, and realizing she's a vampire, starting off her Monday. Write a book. Nobody can stop you.
