Two local men promised to build housing with a 3D printer. That didn’t pan out.
When reporter Molly Parker started to investigate what went wrong, she found the printer disassembled on a flatbed truck at a country repair shop.
Then things got weird.

@ProPublica Terrible writing. Is this one of the articles you had an AI produce? It’s laden with exaggerated descriptions like “biblical” and “weird” but then all that happened was a contractor over-promised and under-delivered, which is what most contractors do—and nobody was financially interested in fixing the results. There’s no story.

@ProPublica am I crazy, or does this read like a pitch to a book and not a story? The author kept talking about the big things they did and the deep research and blah blah, right to the end, but never actually told the story. I kept waiting for the "subscribe for more" or "watch the documentary" part, but it never came

@Moss @ProPublica it's such a weird story! The way it was written kept making promises, I was waiting and waiting for the "pay us for the full story" or "watch our documentary here" part that never came

@ProPublica also, the promise of "things got weird", made repeatedly, was never fulfilled. Nothing was weird, it seems like perfectly normal politics
I'm like mad that I spent time reading such a pointless story!
