      @Walker Phase 3 trial showed the vaccine was over 70% effective in preventing Lyme disease - let's just call it 50/50, the last one gave people arthritis and there was a class action suit #confirmation bias ply tires

        @gary_alderson ya LYMErix in 1992.

        Its too bad, Lyme is such a potentially debilitating disease that not having a vaccine is tragic.

        As someone who lives in the New England the threat of tick bites and Lyme is a constant fear when going outside or interacting with dogs.

        I understand it is also a very complex bacteria that often mutates to evade the immune system, making a vaccine more challenging.

        Fingers crossed they crack that nut in the near future.

          @Walker well the price hopefully will be reasonable but even then you are basically playing roulette in terms of efficacy - you don't want to get it #bullseye #dogstar #epidemiology #lyme conn #infectious disease #bacteria

            @Walker In the early 1990s, the U.S. reported about 9,500 cases per year. The CDC now estimates the actual number of Americans diagnosed and treated annually is closer to 476,000
