Why not just install a Linux distro?

Why not just install a Linux distro? Running a supposed "no AI" script in Windows feels like grabbing cutlery out of the sewer and running a "no sewage" script on it for supper time, when you could have just used clean cutlery that was sitting in the drawer.
Oh, and the sewer fascists are just going to find new ways to contaminate your "no sewage" scripted cutlery with new sewage.

@kimcrawley Linux isn't always going to be the right fit for every use-case
Sometimes using Windows isn't optional, and the best we can do is reduce/minimize the harm. -

@kimcrawley so little reason to run windows on a personal or work computer anymore. if I didn't need professional cad tools i wouldn't have a single install of it anywhere

@mancube @kimcrawley not everybody is allowed to select their work OS. I would love a Linux workstation, but my employer can't buy a surveillance tool for it, so they only permit windows and macOS, which they can monitor. Of course all our production is on Linux, but somehow that's "different".
Anyway, the point is, employers often mandate OSes.

@kimcrawley I must concur. I have ran Linux as a daily driver 2004-2017 and it really didn't work well.
I am back as of this week after Microsoft abandoned Windows 10 and Win 11 is hot garbage.
And ... it works. I am running a HDMI 2.1 monitor via a KVM and the whole shebang works. I plugged in a Thunderbolt cable to network with my MacBook, kaboom, it just works (I needed to set my own IP I wonder whether even that is automated somehow but I don't care). I tried a simple game, just worked.
