I see a lot of comments from people complaining how all they get from internet search is AI slop, ads, or not what they're looking for. I don't have this experience. Nobody has to have this experience as far as I know. I use ad blockers, I have AI features turned off in my browser, and I don't use a search engine with AI (mine does offer something or other but I have it turned off). I wonder if the many complaints are mainly a factor of people not knowing that there's an escape hatch. Certainly all these burdens shouldn't be on the users. I wish people could find out there are ways to make things work better though. If I lived in a different information space I probably wouldn't know, either.

@Nonya_Bidniss In my case it’s SEO gamed slop results. If my question is generic enough or about any highly targeted topic I have dozens of AI slop websites puking the same information.
