    The "democratization" arguments for AI contributions fall over when this is the behaviour in practice that you witness. Is giving everyone an automated spam and harassment machine that wastes open source contributors' time, and makes them want to quit, democratization?

      @cxiao somehow the argument that it's "democratizing" contributions are from the exact people who've had few to no meaningful barriers in the first place; it's something i keep noticing

        and little interest in the fact that the ideology and technology they're supporting is actively destroying learning and opportunities for people who actually do have barriers
