Idea: position myself at the boundary of where I am and where I want to go. (Not so many folks live at the boundaries, so less competition)
Web site designer -> industrial engineering? User interfaces for industrial control.
Musician -> Architecture? Acoustics.
(Doesn't mean I already have all the skills for the target job, but it may give me an angle to get them.)
