    When I read titles and headlines where one let*er is blanked out, what is that preventing?

    I'm assuming we all read through most tyops, so why is the blanking of a single letter so popul*r?

      Some social media platforms hide or ban posts that contain certain words, and the blanked out letter sometimes works around that censorship.

      Also, some religions have taboos against writing certain words, so you see things like "G-d" to avoid blasphemy.
