My uncle in California died 9 years ago of Alzheimer's disease. To this day, he gets snail-mail from the Republican party, asking for donations, much to the distress of my aunt. She called them, and asked them to remove his name from their lists, but they told her that it's too difficult because "it's somewhere in the computer" and they don't know how to do it. I advised her to get her lawyer to send them a cease and desist letter, but he's charging $400 per hour and she doesn't feel like paying this much for such a small thing.
Is there some kind of established procedure to do this in California? Remove a deceased individual's name from a party's list, that is? If it were e-mails, I would have blocked the address but I don't know how to stop physical mail from coming.
