    I thought Bridgy would be a neat thing, bringing the networks together. Turned out it was like USENET when AOL came calling. I disabled it. All porn spam.

      @Sempf I came to the same conclusion yesterday. Interesting concept, but the other network has so much crap on it, replying to random stuff

        @stroz Yeah, I'm bummed. I still have that rose-colored glasses view of what social networking could be that comes with being a nearly 40 year Internet user. I will probably never shake it off.

                  @Sempf @stroz not to get emo, but it's just weird to me that we (guys like us) spent the grand majority of our lives online and now everyone seems to be gone.

                  Corporations centralized and broke up all the third-spaces. Even the digital ones...
