@da_667 @cR0w I've literally spent MONTHS working my ass off on writing. Seriously busting ass. Prepping new infrastructure.

And today has literally just been an overwhelming "why fucking bother?"

    @rootwyrm @da_667 @cR0w

I learned today that nothing I do in my personal life can outweigh the consequences of my professional output, so I'm right there with you.

@Dio9sys @rootwyrm @da_667 That's not true. I think you're carrying the output of your entire org and that's not fair to yourself.

the thought of an impending tactical nuclear strike is really throwing me right now. Even assuming no nukes, the president is actively advocating war crimes.

What the fuck is the point of any of this.

@da_667 This is normal and totally okay. The whole system seems to have gone insane.

At the moment all we can do is focus on what we can control, you know?

@da_667 can totally relate. Trying to brush away the waves of anxiety. But yeah, need to continue whatever silly things we do. Hugs to all!

@cR0w @rootwyrm @da_667 Yeah, I need to step away from the internet for a bit. Just need to breath.

@da_667 feels like I'm barely struggle-bussing through this and it just keeps getting worse each day with no end in sight.

@Dio9sys @rootwyrm @cR0w honestly, the only thing that well and truly motivates me to keep working is that I can almost immediately see the fruit of my work helping to find bad shit on the internet the same day new detection engineering is finished. Its wild to see things you wrote on a wing a prayer, and half a screen shot of a web request end up in malware sandboxes globally.

@Dio9sys @rootwyrm @cR0w I could give two shits that my company wants to grow their revenue to 5 billion dollars by 2030. I'm here to get paid, and produce a positive impact at the same time, hopefully.

@da_667 @Dio9sys @rootwyrm @cR0w that’s how I see my role as well. Blah blah profits, but when I see systems getting decommissioned, or updated, or reconfigured based on my feedback, it feels like I’m helping the overall health of the Internet.

I just also happen to be a marketing tool.

@da_667 @Dio9sys @cR0w $job-1 has made a very big show of slobbering all over Nazis, the new CEO is peak techbro, and the 'brilliant' sale of the only profitable arm collapsed through incompetence. And everything I fixed they have wrecked with LLM psychosis and general incompetence.

Shouting into the abyss and staring into the void would have a more positive impact on the world.

I'm already at my wit's end for many reasons, but I really can't deal with this.

@da_667 this is me, grasping at straws for hope. We know that techbros and oligarch are profiting from polymarket to make money from tragedies.

Thankfully, according to this: https://polymarket.com/event/iran-nuke-before-2027, the odds of Iran receiving a nuclear bomb today is "only" 9%

This is the 'most hope' I can share.....
