      @JessTheUnstill My shower would be a standard shower except for the second nozzle, opposite from the normal one, and a hot water tank four times as big as normal to accommodate it all.

        @PatrickoftheG Also one of those fancy controls that makes it come out at EXACTLY the right temperature every time.

        But for real, a good shower doesn't cost all THAT much. You can just install one in a bathroom remodel.

          @JessTheUnstill OMFG YES!!!!! I have been looking up commercial dishwashers and even wondering how one might have to change the plumbing to install one. 🤓

                      Wouldn't most normal people? A billion is literally more than you can spend in a lifetime even if you started coming up with ways to spend money just for the heck of it.

                          Personally, at around the 10 million USD mark, I'd be like "OK, this is probably enough". At like 30 million USD, I'd be all "yeah, this is DEFINITELY enough". Past 100 million dollars the wealth just becomes an abstract number. The only way it makes a difference is if you want to use it for something larger than yourself. Which I'm not sure I am equipped to do, my philosophy that one person should not have basically godly power extends to myself as well.

                              @JessTheUnstill

                              I know I'm preaching to the choir, but it's just... if I lived for 80 more years, and I wanted to treat myself to something fun every single week for the rest of my life, and that "something fun" cost about a hundred thousand American dollars, it'd still add up to only about 400 million.

                              I don't think I'd be able to come up with something that costs that small fortune that I would want every single week. That's unhinged. That's blatantly evil.

                              And that still doesn't get me even halfway to a billion.

                                @oddtail Someone explained it to me like - for the rate the wealthiest people's wealth grows, they could buy a whole neighborhood every month and burn it to the ground and still be making money

                                  @oddtail like for $100B, even if you stuck it all in T bills, you're earning THREE BILLION EVERY YEAR risk free. Over 8 million every day not even touching the principle. You could buy 8 $1 million dollar houses every single day and burn them.
