    One of the things I hate about Netflix is knowing that each and every click, every pause, every I let a preview run for more than 2 seconds, they're tracking each. And. Every. Bit. And will keep showing you the same thing over and over again because you one time were like "wait, what the fuck was that?" Or the dog made a racket while a show was selected so the trailer played for some cringe bullshit show you'd never watch but now it THINKS you'll watch it. Or "oh you watched 2 shows in this genre, now we'll show you EVERY show in that genre. You're That Kind Of Watcher. For fucks sake ...

      @JessTheUnstill

      This is the way it ALL WORKS NOW. 😕

      I go out of my way to mess with the algorithms whenever I can. Change up the details on yourself in every bit of social media. Watch foreign film in the original foreign language. Let Pandora play Zydeco for hours.

      Always keep the man guessing.

        @JessTheUnstill they don't track anything if you use Kodi with the Netflix Addon. They even sent me an email requiring action or else they'd cancel my subscription because by their numbers, I hadn't (ever) watched anything.

          @JessTheUnstill Years back, I chatted with an ex-netflix person at LISA who switched to microsoft because they hated knowing their career had been devoted to "getting people to watch more TV."

          Dev/sec/hug/ops is a dissonant career and no mistake.

            @Fishercat @JessTheUnstill I'm guessing it was to avoid lawsuits from evergreen contracts
