Pinterest Is Drowning in a Sea of AI Slop and Auto-Moderation - Slashdot

Users say Pinterest has become flooded with AI-generated images and heavy-handed automated moderation, with artists reporting wrongful takedowns and their hand-drawn work mislabeled as "AI modified." As the company doubles down on AI features and layoffs, longtime users argue the platform's creative...

      yeah, no sympathy.
these assholed shitted up all the google image search results for years with "the exact image youre looking for but when you click on it, you get to a landing page that forces you to create an account to get the image"

sounds like the same issues imgur has now - the owners hollowed out the brand and use it for litch/zombie flavored SEO to get ad clicks. the 'community' is gone

@Viss @h2onolan IRC days we used to try and make a boat collaboratively in chat. I wonder if AI can do that.

@BabblingGeek @h2onolan it cant. but there are collab drawing platforms both for freehand stuff assuming you have a tablet and like, clipstudio, and also for drawing ansi/ascii. i cant remember if it was mistigris or sixteencolors but one of them hosted a thing once, and i went to play on it. it was fun!

also there are still groups putting out .ans art packs. its nuts! i love it!

@Viss #kagi search list of top domains blocked by their users is very telling. It was like this even before the proliferation of AI slop images.
