@Annacats she was Sapphire; we went instead with Gemma (Gem for short). Cat names need a long form for scolding and an abbreviation for endearment. Not that they care!

“Gemmaaa!” when she’s in trouble, “Gem” when she’s being adorable perfect system, even if she completely ignores both. -
@Annacats I adopted a wonderful tortie-tabby the shelter named Arena, I called her Susie for the next sixteen years.

@Annacats Let me tell you, someone at the shelter was being funny when she got there. They found a mom cat with her kittens and decided on 'Mama Mia' ! I just call her Amy.

All the cats I have now were rescued from the street and didn't have names. My two daughters are named Tie and Mandy. And the boy's name is Hakka.@cesarpose Tie, Mandy, and Hakka those are such lovely names🩷.
Street rescues always end up with the biggest personalities and the most love to give. -

Tie and Mandy are already 12 years old and Hakka is 9. They stayed, but in the last ten years more than 20 cats have passed through my house, all rescued from the street and given up for adoption. -
