    Any #Mozilla #Firefox fans know what is going on here?

    I have the "kill switch" enabled, but I have a 57mb model on my disk that I surely didn't ask for.

    The model page on Hugging Face is: https://huggingface.co/Mozilla/static-embeddings which doesn't tell me anything about its purpose in Firefox.

      @yoasif

      You were foolish to trust Mozilla after their new CEO made it clear their mission is to make Firefox an "AI first" browser.

          @tizziari @librewolf @Waterfox I have them both installed but I was investigating an issue in core Firefox - I still expect the supposed kill switch to work as expected.

            @yoasif hm, I wonder if it's an old unused model that wasn't caught by the new AI controls. have you filed a bug? also take a look at about:inference for more details (and to delete manually)

              @jaredhirsch I just filed a bug: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2024046

              Not really sure what I am seeing over at about:inference.

                  @yoasif

                  You could try the pre-"kill"-switch method of going into about:config and turning everything listed here off:
