    @th @elizabethtasker imagine how long you’d be twiddling that adjustment dial to get a person size wrench down to the correct gap for an M2 nut.

      There’s two broken-off dowels. Never mention this to me again.

      For some god unknown reason, I decided a cupboard would be GREAT on one of the shelves. You apparently screw this directly into the wood (no pre-drilled holes) so it’s a one-shot terrifying situation.

      @elizabethtasker
      If something goes wrong installing the cupboard, remove it, get some wood filler, fill the holes, let it harden well, and try again.

            @elizabethtasker I was unable to finish assembly of our bookcase since ikea didn't include the giant wrench.

              @elizabethtasker My heart-felt sympathy! 💚 I added doors to a kallax years ago. It was a shiny surface one, and it was so hard to get the position of the holes right! Just a hard, slippery surface that liked to crack, with some saw dust underneath. And because that wasn't bad enough I decided to add child safety locks to the doors later! They need to be positioned with sub-millimeter accuracy. It was so frustrating! But when it's done it's so satisfying. Enjoy the movie!

                            @th @elizabethtasker I believe you misread that, the big wrench is only required for disassembly, not assembly. Two to Three hours depending on degree of disassembly. Two hours if you just need to fit it in car, Three hours to fit it back in the box.
