Leeward

This beautiful and dramatic pyramidical stack of basaltic strata is a regular stop for us. It has a wonderful strength about it.

Every time we've been there, it looks different. This time, a clump of cloud had formed on the leeward side of the peak, and patchy sunlight was picking out details in the structure.

Búlandstindur (1069 m / 3507 ft) in Djúpavogshreppur between Berufjörður and Hamarsfjörður, eastern #Iceland.
