@jon This doesn’t make sense to me. I thought patents had to be non obvious. Giving an AI some data and prompting it to do something should not be enough for a patent.

It’s also bizarre that the output might not be copyrightable, but somehow the thing that spits out the non-copyrightable output is patentable?

      This is the dumbest timeline.

@jon But they apparently plan to also do it with users who have abandoned or taken a break from their accounts. At least if you're dead, people can pretty easily verify that the AI slop is not you.

@PedestrianError @jon Oh great, so now you can get cancelled or upset your friends and family because the AI version of you posted something awful on a Facebook account you haven't touched in five years.

@jon Ah, so this is like the common people's version of when they make CG or deepfake versions of dead actors for movies. And just as gross.

@jon gotta love the language. It said it should require your consent not that it would, but that it should.

@Pineywoozle @jon presumably they will be using an ouija board to get that consent?

@beecycling @jon And Zuckerberg would never be motivated to target people who have offended the dictator in his pursuit of the next tax break, regulatory change, or disruption of a lawsuit that threatens his empire.
