            @danirabbit Yeah, but then, all that wonderful money had gone to waste, i.e., to the people. We wouldn't have half the billionaires we have today. You have to set some priorities.

                  @danirabbit I'm old enough to remember how for a short time we started to take it seriously in the 70s, even getting environmental legislation passed (some of it under Nixon [of all people]!), but by the 1980s reverted. Since that time, it's been a seesaw between administrations. One step forward, two steps back, and back...and back. It's been frustrating to see this happen during the course of my life.
