    And I thought retrocomputing was expensive...

    This is a Goodwill (chain of thrift stores) listing for a literally broken cassette deck.

    To be entirely fair, this is one of those "holy grail" ones, very coveted by those in the cassettes hobby.

    (Also, who drops something like this off at a thrift store?)

      This is a Goodwill (chain of thrift stores) listing for a literally broken cassette deck.

      To be entirely fair, this is one of those "holy grail" ones, very coveted by those in the cassettes hobby.

      (Also, who drops something like this off at a thrift store?)

      @thomasfuchs I dropped off, like, $10,000 worth of stuff bc I lost my home and couldn't keep it and was too seriously ill and isolated to arrange anything better. Sucked but at least someone could use the stuff. 😿

        @thomasfuchs I'm waiting for the new gen to learn, that cassettes lose information as they're been played...
