    Bizarre, given who the #Ontario Premier is, that they'd establish an absenteeism penalty for high school kids.

    "You'll lose 10-15% of your mark if you're absent too much… unless your pager goes off, and someone needs to buy some hash – that's okay. But otherwise, stay in school, kids. Folks."

      @ottaross An absentee penalty is effectively a tax on poverty, or kids who have social challenges at home.

        @jvschrag It really is. Plus creates intractable situations where a kid can't get back on track after a poor start to the year. Just railroading kids into bad outcomes.
