You know, sometimes too much visibility is as bad as too little.

I deployed NetAlertX on my network, now I'm seeing a few devices disconnecting the reconnecting to the network at random times. The devices and the times are random, but there are a few patterns I can see by the notifications.

The problem is: this was never a problem before, nothing is really failing, but now it is a problem that is bothering me, and I will probably spend hours trying to find out that it's most likely a whole nothingburger.

Now I'm not sure if it was something worth installing.

@badnetmask @homelab I have done this a number of times. Sometimes its better to just read a new book. But once I see it its very hard to let it go lol.

@badnetmask Yeah, at work they have started a suite of monitoring on some infrastructure... one measures swap utilisation.

They've raised a concern that swap is often above 60% and asked what I am going to do about it.

CPU utilisation is low, memory usage is stable at around 70% and disk utilisation is low. So I asked "what problem are you trying to solve?" ... they replied "we keep getting automated tickets because the swap utilisation is above 50%" ...

I suggested disabling the alert on swap monitoring.
