Doctor: "You should really try to avoid stress"

Ah yes, of course. Right after I finish following my financial advisor's strategy of "just be rich".

Amazing how many complex life problems can be solved with absolutely no actionable steps.

@fribbledom He is just alarming you to the problem, not giving you a solution. It is up to you to find the right balance between health vs. work.

If you feel your work level has to stay the same, you can also try Yoga or other workouts in your freetime?

Sorry, if you feel lectured by this. It is meant as a friendly reminder.

@alex @fribbledom As if work was the only source of stress.

@alex @fribbledom it's... complicated to find a balance between work and health if your health depends on you continuing to work flat out because your salary is low

and it's never as simple as "just find another job"

if people didn't need to work just to live, perhaps they could find ways to live their lives happily doing what they love at a healthy pace

@fribbledom a friend of mine once said something which has stuck with me, over ten years later.

"The thing about money is that if you want more, you can have it."

@OmegaPolice @alex @fribbledom And as if all the responsibility of identifying and rectifying all sources of stress are on the sufferer. It doesn't require a doctorate to tell that someone is suffering from stress, but a doctor is precisely the person we need to understand the sources and ramifications of stress and point us in the proper direction. Not just tips and tricks that may have helped others.
