@babe I didn't knew they made it in "clear", I always saw them in translucent green

@gkrnours They've got a slight tinge to them in direct sunlight but certainly not anywhere near the degree you usually see

I've given it a good going over with the pressure washer. The discs are all fully in tact. Now I just need to figure out what to do with it.

I'm thinking of removing the links and turning them into sun catchers in the window

Today I finally went out to assess the situation and have a look around, and anyone who's known me a while will know I am slightly obsessed with pylons.

So imagine my squeal of delight when, in moving some brush aside, I discovered this gem.

@Lacey I kind of forget it's not the most normal thing. Back before twitter was a complete hellscape I had a pretty big circle of people on there, mostly brits, and a surprising amount of them were members of the Pylon Appreciation Society. It's easy to get the impression it's extremely common

@babe Really nice! Now you only need a huge metal tower to put under it.

Seriously, I'd just use the whole thing as decoration. Put it on the roof perhaps, or maybe in a clothesline for a funny effect.

@eldaking I'm tempted to look at where the beams are in the loft and set up a hook by the bay window, just hang the whole thing up there. It is, unsurprisingly, very heavy

The woods are now clear enough that I've been able to set the hedgehog nesting boxes up out there nicely.
The Hog's Hedge (the big feeding station with the portrait in it) has now been turned into a second nest box. I'll be setting up a network extender to put a camera back in it at some point.

Something hedgehog sized has already investigated The Igel's Nest but not stuck around. Still no visitors on the feeder cam though.

@babe That looks a lot like the core of a furry tail tbh. just needs a furry slip cover and a harness worn backwards to attach it so it can swing back and forth.
