- No perverse incentives to maximize screentime like #ads, #RageBait, #ClickBait, #HateBait, …
- Organic (you don't get #celebrity recommendatios!)
- You discover your own followers and followers are discovering you!
- Decentralized
- Not a single person owns it.
- Not a big corporation owns it.
- If Mastodon enshittifies, people can just "fork off" and continue.
- Authenticity is rewarded over optics
