    Having my first Jamaican patty and

    Blown away by how good but also how it’s almost exactly the same as Indian Muslim style curry puff

    @skinnylatte

    Jamaican patty is one of those great Canadian compromises.

    ‘

    Patty vs. Patty tells the story of Toronto’s bizarre 1985 “patty wars,” when Jamaican-Canadian bakers went head-to-head with the federal government over the name of their beloved beef patty.

          @mycrowgirl @skinnylatte have you had a Jamaican patty in coco bread? It’s a double carb wrap on coco-mo’!

            Might I introduce you to the Scottish delicacy, a macaroni pie roll?

              @HighlandLawyer I once had a macaroni pie and haggis roll. The red onion chutney really pulled it together. 😋@skinnylatte

                That's a posh version, the usual accoutrement would be "a wee dod o broon sauce".

                    @skinnylatte

                    There is a soul food place in Cambridge (the Boston one) and the jerk chicken and cheese patties are sublime. Also the best collard greens I have ever had anywhere. Please let me send you there if you ever come back to Boston.

                        @skinnylatte when you get back in town, check out Back-A-Yard whenever you're down in the South Bay. It's a popular Jamaican restaurant with 5 locations. The closest one to SF is their original closet sized location in Menlo Park.

                        I love their Jamaican patties.

                        I didn't know how good I had it in the bay area with Back a yard. Seattle has nothing
