    In an attempt to justify their killing of a Lebanese journalist, the Israeli military shares a photo of the journalist in a Hezbollah military uniform, arguing that that he was a terrorist.

    However, it now turns out, this “photo” was AI generated by the Israeli military, because they have no real evidence of a connection between the journalist and Hezbollah.

    France 24 has the story.

      The IDF and Israel don't realise it are these acts of deception, that they have conducted over many years, that made people stop believing anything they say.

      The last few years, they had to admit over and over again that the information they provided was made up.

      That they now have to admit that they used AI to show a killed journalist with a Hezbollah military uniform only shows that even they know that their actions are inhumane and indefensible.

                              @ezeno @randahl

                              making it illegal is the easy part

                              it's enforcement that should be your concern

                              if a law is not enforced, or can't be enforced, it has no meaning

                              so i'm not saying don't fight AI disinfo. in fact i agree: make it illegal so at least there is a rationale to punish those guilty of it. as a starting point

                              but then the real effort begins. how to identify it effectively. how to punish it effectively

                              that's the hard part. the real work

                              "illegal!" just doesn't cut it, alone

                                  @randahl Why is it always that every accusation is a confession with these folks, weren't they moaning about a real photo of one of their finest cosplaying as an IDF soldier, published in an Italian magazine, is AI as the wanna be sheppard of Palestinians wasn't the IDF supersoldier stereotype they perpetuate but just a real person.

                                    @randahl America and the EU has for decades has not come out openly to demand the establishment of a Palestinian state and to put an end to the daily killings of Palestinians. Israel in turn uses the pretext that 'Israel has the right to defend itself'. This is supported by many countries even though it is not true. Decades of subjugation, killings at will, confiscation of land, illegal settlements etc will naturally lead to what Hamas did. Shame on the world. #eu #us

                                      @randahl The Israelis are evil, let's face it. Turns out you can be a fascist even though others of the same ideology mass killed your great-grandparents by shooting them at ditches or in gas chambers that resembled showers.

                                        @ezeno @randahl

                                        making it illegal is the easy part

                                        it's enforcement that should be your concern

                                        if a law is not enforced, or can't be enforced, it has no meaning

                                        so i'm not saying don't fight AI disinfo. in fact i agree: make it illegal so at least there is a rationale to punish those guilty of it. as a starting point

                                        but then the real effort begins. how to identify it effectively. how to punish it effectively

                                        that's the hard part. the real work

                                        "illegal!" just doesn't cut it, alone
