@QasimRashid Brave man in a way - far too many are chillingly exploited by unscrupulous business owners.
Stepping back, profit channelled into the pockets of a few was never how Capitalism needed to go - profit was there to sustain a business. Resource renewal, research, contingency. Commandeering it by lining already full pockets was just insanely bad. Distributing such an excess across the workers much more sane. Besides, workers then happier and thereby work better.

I used to maintain fire suppression systems at large facilities and they are designed by insurance engineers to be very difficult to defeat even by those who are very experienced. There's a LOT of redundancy with the mechanical and supervisory systems and I believe only an inside job can effectually defeat them.
That being said, I have worked a fire from a contractor and seen the damage it can do. Smoke damage can wipe out countless millions of dollars in inventory in the 30 seconds it takes to put the fire out. Bad contactors can do even more damage quickly.

The economic argument in the video is bs.
First, two people at that stage would have a comfortable living, so if you're single, double up with someone else. Two income households is the norm nowadays.
Second, if you can't make a living there on your wage, either change jobs or move somewhere cheaper - you've got the whole country.
Third, no union? Form a union. Union is ineffective? Work to change it.
People pull up stakes all the time. Just burning down the place is cowardly.

No, I don't want corporations "choosing to do good", out of their good will. Because that gives them the option to select what they do. That gives them the option of stopping to do that. That gives them stopping to do that as a bargaining argument.
Tax them. Use the resources where appropriate. Don't give them the option of not doing that.
And if they want to do *more*, *on top* of that, well, no one is stopping them.

1. Union action;
2. Change jobs to a lower-cost area. Plenty of workers won't take a job in SillyValley because, even with a 6-figure income, they would have a lower standard of living than making half as much elsewhere;
3. Finding someone else to share expenses with.So instead the asshole put all his co-workers out on the street. I'm sure they just LOVE him for that.
But HE has no problem - he'll get free room and board and medical care, he's got his, Fuck his co-workers.

I proposed constructive solutions. Union action wouldn't have left his co-workers and their families out on the street.
And sharing expenses with ONE (not 7) other person is what plenty of working families do.
Ask his now-unemployed co-workers how they feel about him. Good thing he's in jail - they'd probably beat the crap out of him because unlike him, who gets all his housing a And medical covered for the next 5-10 years, they're jobless and facing being out on the street and no medical.
If they were precarious before, they're facing destitution now. Why not spare a thought for them instead of white-knighting this asshole?

I'm well aware of Amazon's anti-union tactics. One warehouse here unionized, they closed them all down. That doesn't mean that unions aren't viable - just that stronger legislation is needed to level the playing field.
In other words, change politicians.
