      @pancake ive been using ubuntu for around 2 decades now and i have never once seen it put asterisks on the sudo password, literally ever once. this is not a behavior ubuntu exhibits, i dont even understand ops post.

        @0x00string afaik thats part of the new binutils sudo in 26.04 rewritten in rust. I never used a tab in a password but now i need to
