I usually make an effort to watch #WWDC, but this year I didn't. Google's barrage of AI exceeded my bullshit quota for the year. Anything from Apple I should care about in the slightest? Did they finally do the thing with Siri?

@mike I was listening to Waveform the other day who summed up Google IO - glad I didn't tune in as it seems it was all just Gemini in different outfits.

@mike Improvements to parental controls for iOS, slider for level of transparency for liquid glass effect, surface level descriptions of optimization improvements to macOS, AI AI AI AI (mostly a rehash of their original announcement + using Gemini models).

@kev Yea, that was pretty much it. It's why my AI quotas were maxed out. I couldn't stand another keynote with AI all the time. I don't even own any Apple products. I just usually watch so I'm up to speed on what's going on. Apple's hyperbole as nauseating on a good day, and I didn't want an hour and a half of more of the same. Plus, I find it irrationally annoying they decided to "rebrand" AI as "Apple Intelligence", especially when they're farming most of it out to Google anyway.

@me Was that original AI stuff one or two years ago now? It's been a while.
