This morning while walking the dog a lady asked if he was a girl or boy. This isn't unusual, but she said "fille ou garçon?" not "femelle ou mâle" which is what everyone asks here. Her French was fluent but weird and she had an American accent with her fluent English.

I wonder if this is a #Canada vs #France difference? My wife said Canadian French speakers use more English phrases/patterns than the French do.
