      It would be great if I could go a day without seeing an article that points to the need to unionize.

      I'd rather not think about @beep 's book at all, to be honest.

                16 tokens, and what do you get?
                Another day older and deeper in debt.

                  @elizayer

                  The AI sector is buttressing the fossil fuel industry. LLMs are just their newest bottomless fossil fuel sink.

                  It's all being paid for with petro-backed fiat scrip. They want to pay for results by tonnage and have no regard for safety.
                  They want scarce housing and retail monopolies. They have to control workers' access to their doctors.

                  The Coalfield Wars never ended.

                          @elizayer @beep For UK based folks, check out the TUC's find a Union helper. And remember, it is *illegal* in the UK for employers to stop you from joining, or discriminate against you for being part of a union.

                              @elizayer A.I. and LLMs exist simply to move even more wealth to the very top, while leaving the plebes jobless and without income.

                                @elizayer I see a "token budget" as part of my compensation, and that's an immediate reject for me.
