KDE plasma do not force systemd only "plasma login" with is not a requirement to run KDE.

@moumn @9to5linux Why not just use SDDM? That isn't being dropped anytime soon afaik, and it still supports other init systems and the BSDs; the only KDE systemd dependency right now is the Plasma Login Manager.

They literally just killed their distro. The same thing happened last year with Nitrux. They switched from Qt 5 to Hyprland... Because they didn't want to port to Qt 6?

Some ideas are misaligned even as a concept.

Thank goodness we now have distros like EndeavourOS and CachyOS.

@jbouter we said nothing about Plasma forcing systemd. We just presented the news from the KaOS project and the things they've encounter. The latest KaOS release is actually shipping with systemd. Doing a separate article about Plasma not requiring/forcing systemd is another thing.
