    @Remittancegirl
    Indeed. And we can only hope against hope that somebody somewhere along the way preserved a backup.

    @inthehands The hope is that their obvious incompetence might have helped preserve a few.

    Or that something can be discerned by noting what is missing.

      @inthehands @Remittancegirl My guess is that at least a handful of people who investigated and learned things and then were told to shut it down made copies, but they are still employed in the system, and they may (quite rightly) fear for their safety. I’m not saying it’ll be soon, but it will come out, and it will never be over. It’ll haunt Trump and his ghost. Too many people know more than they’re saying.

        I do not know why anyone is expecting the released Epstein files to incriminate Trump. They took so long to release them because they had to cull them first.

        Those documents incriminating him are surely destroyed by now.

              The fact that anyone would doubt, for one minute, that this administration would not hesitate to destroy incriminating evidence is ... well, naive.

              That's a polite way to put it.

              @Remittancegirl The problem for them is that the information was pulled in from so many sources that it is almost certain that every piece of info is duplicated in other places. We are going to see if whistleblowers start releasing things they've seen in the papers that have not been made public.

                @mikemccaffrey We'll see.

                But my hunch is that the problem is the volume. The kind of people who might be in possession of copies are not likely to go through them systematically.

                The good thing about physical paper is that burning it calls attention. Deleting electronic documents is incredibly easy. And should someone blow a whistle and show documents, it can be claimed they are faked.

                    @Remittancegirl well I’m still willing to imprison him for the insurrection.

                      @Remittancegirl I mean in the first regime Trump tore up his own papers in the Oval Office. Hapless staffers trying to follow records laws actually tried to tape them back together. Humpty-Dumpty country
