    Just noticed that this $12,599 workstation doesn't even come with a Wi-Fi adapter. You have to pay extra for that. What, did Lenovo hire away the executive team from Spirit Airlines

      @jalefkowit Yeah, the price of the Aston Martin inspired them, obviously.

        @jalefkowit you get it for just 7.794€ with 32GB RAM if you know to read German. The price still hurts!!!

          @jalefkowit

          Apple taught them.

          Did you price it out fully maxed? I loved folks sharing those stories on late night shifts.

            @jalefkowit I could see some higher-end workstation-class processors warranting that price tag even without a GPU (though you'd definitely want more RAM than that to make use of them) but checking ARK, the processors in there are only around $600/ea. If that's not "damn near fraudulent misrepresentation" pricing, I don't know what is...

              @jalefkowit To be fair I hate desktops shipping with Wi-Fi. If I wanted wireless anything, I'd have a laptop.

              I can tolerate a desktop that has the chip and an internal antenna (moat business desktops do this now, begrudgingly), but enthusiast class PCIe wireless cards which need external antennas and all... absolutely cannot stand these if not absolutely necessary.

                  @becomethewaifu @jalefkowit dang that's substantially more expensive than getting a 4U rackmount server from Dell or HP or whomever. Hell, you could use the leftover money from the price difference to set up a bunch of soundproofing.

                    @jalefkowit Every fucking day I count my blessings that I got a Steam Deck as an entry-level gaming PC.
