#LesbianVisibilityWeek happens to coincide with the week I first came out to my mom nearly 30 years ago.

I usually use the terms gay or queer nowadays but I’m still really proud of being a lesbian.
I’m not just attracted to women, I love watching women do sports or being Thespians or simply talking about their passions. I love learning about women’s lives, their loves, and their heartbreaks.

I’ve learned to be more aware of gender and sexuality fluidity and I embrace the varieties.
I hate what the patriarchy has done to our perceptions and behaviours around gender and attraction, but I still love a lot about being a woman who loves women.

Cheers to fellow lesbians (except the ableist, racist, and transphobic ones) and to future and past lesbians.
