With both the Linux kernel and systemd infected by "AI" and now also the first steps towards government-mandated age-gating and thus the definitive end of privacy, I feel more done with technology than ever before.

I'm just tired, Fedi. I just want to make the pixels go bleep-bloop in weird ways so I can feel smug towards Windows and Apple users. Is that really too much to ask?

@thomholwerda I've joked about this before and now it feels like more than just gallows humor: One day I'm going to just say "fuck it", go live deep in the woods, my only piece of technology an old crusty ThinkPad running OpenBSD that I carry to the edge of town once a week to plug it in and grab a free Wi-Fi signal so I can charge it up, download and respond to email, check in on Fedi, run syspatch and/or sysupgrade, and disappear into the woods again. The townspeople will speak of the "smart Sasquatch" they occasionally see creeping around outside of the local Starbucks holding his laptop up high like an offering to the gods, but really it's just to catch a good signal.

@kaidenshi @thomholwerda hear! hear! you wouldn't believe how much time I've actually spent on planning the logistics of this very thing.
