@m1rk0 @EUCommission What do you mean 'let'? Sadly our laws allow very little room to stop Orban. And changing them generally requires unanimity.
I'd like to understand more concretely what you think the EU should do against fascists like Orban? Even suspending Hungary would require unanimity among the rest, which other fascists like Slovakia's Fico will not support.

@azathoth @carquint @EUCommission There simply isn't much legal room for action against Hungary while others like Fico in Slovakia, and to a lesser extent Meloni in Italy protect Hungary.
The only real options require unanimity among the rest of the EU governments. The EC has very little recourse itself under EU laws. Which in turn can also only be changed with unanimity among the national governments.

I'd like to understand more concretely what you think the EU should do against fascists like Orban? Even suspending Hungary would require unanimity among the rest, which other fascists like Slovakia's Fico will not support.
@Schouten_B @EUCommission They don't even try to do the exact thing you described. Or condemn him publicly, which they are allowed to. It makes the EU look weak and their actions implausible. As a German i am ashamed of the EU president on a daily basis.
