I was just sitting on the sofa, considering what to do about dinner, when some guy whose face I didn’t see came up my steps and put something in my mailbox. He had a blue heeler waiting at the water bowl. By the time I got up and opened the door, they were gone. And this was in the box. 1/

I know I said “end” before, but I want to add that this is why I am fighting to keep the house, to assume the mortgage, even though it means I will likely work until I die.
These are my people. This is my heart home.

I know I said “end” before, but I want to add that this is why I am fighting to keep the house, to assume the mortgage, even though it means I will likely work until I die.
These are my people. This is my heart home.
One more thing…my breakup last summer was awful. Part of it was related to me being who I am, in this way. I have been told my whole life to turn it down, be less, not to make things harder…but I just cannot not stand up. So, to be not only seen but also appreciated for being, well, me…there are not enough words.

One more thing…my breakup last summer was awful. Part of it was related to me being who I am, in this way. I have been told my whole life to turn it down, be less, not to make things harder…but I just cannot not stand up. So, to be not only seen but also appreciated for being, well, me…there are not enough words.
@LeslieBurns This is an amazing and heartwarming story that shows the value of you remaining you. I remember your breakup, and if I didn't say something kind, I hope I at least sent an internet hug. I had a terrible breakup of a poison relationship where he actually succeeded in breaking me down into a cowering mouse; I am delighted that you were able to remain yourself despite everything. You are an inspiration, and not just because of your fabulous hair.
