ok i figure i should ask fedi for help here

anyone in the UK want a sony KV-E2942U trinitron crt and is willing to collect it from southampton? it doesnt turn on and displays a blink code, but there isnt anything visibly wrong inside at first glance, so im pretty sure its fixable by someone with more time than me

its got its original stand and the speakers that slot on the sides and top. not sure we have the remote but i think we have a spare sony remote that might work with it

i have to get rid of it by mid-june else it goes in the tip so im really hoping someone will save it lol

edit: updated the model number to be the right language sorryy

@mynotaurus it’s beautiful but I’m pretty sure it would cost $1000 to ship to the US

@panegyr @mynotaurus also you’d have to handle the fact they are working at two different voltages, refresh rates and color standard as the us.

          This is a rabbit hole

@azavech @panegyr @mynotaurus clearly you gotta also import some PAL consoles to play a bunch of retro games slightly slower

@kyle_pegasus @zuthal @panegyr @mynotaurus I’m not sure, I’ve got 3 Trinitron (fairly « « recent » » or at least newer than this and they are 60Hz only and do not handle 50)

@azavech @zuthal @panegyr @mynotaurus NTSC region TVs not handling 50Hz is normal. late PAL TVs not handling 60Hz is unusual.

Source: am from a PAL country and run them at 60Hz.

@mynotaurus I really hope you shift this. Having the stand makes such a difference - it's almost impossible to find a TV bench these days that'll fit a 29-incher. I already have a similar set that I barely have space for, but I've shared with my community... hopefully we can find a good home for it!
