@n00q that was my question. I agree, however, I'm constantly asked about this when I'm out in meatspace community.
My thoughts: "As someone trying to bring people into the fold, this is really appearing to be a big gap, it's not one I'm keen on filling, but I've been pushing that organic engagement, participation in the community is paramount. Comparing "meatspace" community - you don't attract friends without puting something in yourself, and I think that's what has been lost in the commercial social media platforms."

Yeah I'm a shit disturber. I actually answer this question a lot. Similar to how Cory mentioned property rights even though he is not into markets, I am not into capitalist influencer culture, but I still explain to influencers or entrepreneurs that the Fediverse offers them:
You can build connection to an audience that can't be taken away from you or have the platform change the deal on you.
People can see your content without an account (in the case of Mastodon or Pixelfed).
