I'm 19 months into unemployment due to illness, and I just got a letter that my earlier payment for storage didn't go through, and I have until the 1st to pay 2000$ or they're auctioning off my storage, which has 12 years of games & retrotech.

Any help you can spare would be amazing.

https://ko-fi.com/fooneturing/goal?g=0@foone@digipres.club Have you talked to the storage company? They might be willing to at least give you more time to pay it off.
Two grand is a lot of money to come up with in a day. -

I think being amidst financial uncertainty and being at risk of losing a decade's worth of valuable belongings without being able to see so much as a dime of their value is a more than valid mutual aid ask.
Not that I think mutual aid posts need to justify themselves as a "valid struggle", I think if it's literally any sincere financial hardship that people can help with, it belongs. I am not in the position to donate to people right now so maybe being active in that regard changes the perspective a bit but that's how I see it.
With that said I do think "I am about to lose a large portion of my belongings and I am unable to make the $2,000 I need to prevent this from happening" is pretty irrefutably in the same tier as "rent is due" even if you don't read into the implications of that situation.
