I am pondering how to approach a mending project where I only have access to one side of the fabric. Our dining room chair cushions are covered with T-shirt material (itself a mending project from 10+ years ago). One of them has finally gotten a hole, and I don't want to disassemble the whole seat. I was thinking of trying some ring-free embroidery or sashiko, but I will likely end up stabbing through cushion along with fabric.
