To prevent bait-and-switch abuses of this feature, previous versions of your post will still be visible if people click on the "edited" or "edit history" links. Also, anyone who has already boosted your post will receive a notification each time it is edited.

@FediTips As an impulsive poster and serial editor I appreciate this! Cramming a complex idea into 500 characters isn't the easiest task ever, so I often do minor edits to get my point made more clearly in the space available.
Any previous versions being visible to everyone is a good feature. It means the reasons are transparent: I just didn't like the repetition of a word, or thought of a better way to defy the character limit (or something equally trivial!) not that the meaning was changed.
