building a slide deck for a preso tomorrow and Google now pops up "Enhance this slide" with a Gemini button on EVERY FUCKING SLIDE. which makes the slide itself smaller in the display, so you have to engage with the button to get it back to desktop size.
(We're a Google Workspace shop, so go elsewhere with the "Don't use Google" takes. Not my choice. And yes, I know I can try blocking content with an adblocker. That's not the point.)

I succeed with some pesty sides with u-block origin. Those small nervy things on the right lower corner vanished like 🧙 poof

I wonder what it says about our slide-making skills it preferences that my unwanted Google-AI keeps asking if I want to "beautify" every slide rather than "enhance" them.
Maybe Google is just A/B testing what prompt is most effective at shoveling AI into everything, or maybe I make ass-ugly slides

@neurovagrant Microsoft office is doing the same. But Copilot goes further and displays a button that says "explain this slide" in a presentation that I'm creating...

@neurovagrant Please do! I hate that little incitements to use something I despise and am quite sure will blow up in everyone's faces sometime in the next couple years are jammed into my view in basically every single piece of software I'm forced to use for work. On the bright side very few people appear to be actually using it, so hopefully just a matter of time......
