With any other sector my emotions would diverge somewhere between disgusted contempt to violent outage.

However, this was the fossil fuel sector being hit. Which means I don't care who hit it, in what way for whatever reason.

Maybe the Western media and the political comentariat are silent because in this case a Western company didn't suffer millions in losses as collateral damage?
