alt with optional self hosting and federation as planned features for this year? 
(Probably not activitypub I know, but hows the consensus about the app)
I have been interested in a discrod alt not because of age verification, but because the nitro limitations drive me insane, apparently they have a similar (ish) pricing model, but that only applies to their instance and self hosted instances should be up to the host
Payment being optional to support the team (honestly as long as it's one-time I wouldn't be upset about some features being under the lifetime pass, but to each their own) -

I made an account to poke around, it was too new for me to make an immediate jump but I wanted to look around a little for sure
I do think as long as hosting is relatively cheap or easy I would definitely prefer my own hosted instance versus a flagship
(self hosting is cool and all, but Im like, not looking for another massive responsibility lol) -
