    @GottaLaff
    Ah, well.... I blocked the bridge when it became clear the leadership of BS are scum - mostly to protect people here that I quote. So I don't actually get ANY of your bridged posts here...

    That's okay, though, because I read them in an RSS reader. It does mean I don't get to interact with you, which makes me sad, but that's a decision I made.

    So... hey, keep doing what you're doing. We love you for it despite the tech issues and annoyances.

      Thank you for posting so much of interest. I am so sorry you had this very petty annoyance directed at you.🤗

        @gdinwiddie Thanks! I basically do commentary via quote post, so that's my style.

            @GottaLaff Actually, I haven't seen any of your posts in my feed here in quite a while; this is literally the first.

            I don't have a Bluesky account for two reasons:

            1. I moved here full-time to get as far away from corporate interests as possible;

            2. I will have no truck with Jack Dorsey. He sold out with Twitter, and he's also a proponent of AI generally, and AI being used to replace workforces in particular.

            @QuarkMaker You don't see them because I stopped posting here.

            You don't need a Bsky account. People using Bridgy don't require one.

            My reason for using Bsky, as I keep saying, is that's where my sources are. I don't know how may times I've said that, but I'm saying it again.

                I have no control over how they appear. I quote-post a lot, & that's how they show up, out of my control.

                & no, you do not need a Bsky acct to read the posts.

                + when people reply to me from here, I, too, have to click over to read the entire reply. I don't mind bc I appreciate engaging with you.

                        @GottaLaff I'm not judging you, ma'am. This is (still) a free country.

                        The reason I (and I assume anyone else) has a concern in the matter is we like seeing your posts (obviously, otherwise you wouldn't have a following) and we must you.

                          2/ Adding, because someone always asks why I don’t originate my posts from Mastodon:

                          The main reason I’m over there to begin with is because that’s where my sources are. As I said in my reply to Crow, it was too overwhelming to keep duplicating my original posts from Bsky over here. (I’ve explained this before, a lot, but just in case you missed those.)

                                  @LexyCameron @GottaLaff I second Lexy's comment.

                                  I ran univ.-affil. VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) sites for over 30 years, and for 21 years we sought experienced CPAs to review my student's work (they were students, after all). And one thing I never did was criticize our CPAs for not doing more.

                                  Volunteers are not our employees or contractors. They have lives & careers, and receive No compensation for volunteering.

                                          @quillmatiq The GitHub issue for getting bridged quote posts visible on Mastodon is https://github.com/snarfed/bridgy-fed/issues/1956, some good discussion in there early on. (Sorry for basically taking it over with my FEP-044f ecosystem monitoring.)

                                          The implementation is nontrivial, since unlike most ActivityPub platforms Bridgy Fed probably won't want to issue a blanket quoting permission, but instead bridge quote post permissions from each Bluesky user and post.

                                          @evan @GottaLaff @anewsocial
